Trio in Northern Ireland Squad Mon 19th Oct 2009 15:40
Academy trio Rory McKeown (pictured), Cormac Burke and Josh Carson have been named in the Northern Ireland squad for the UEFA European U17 Championships qualifying tournament in Andorra next week. The three all won their first two U17 caps in friendlies in Greece earlier this month.

Academy trio Josh Carson (pictured), Cormac Burke and Rory McKeown won their second Northern Ireland U17 caps on Friday as their side drew 1-1 in a friendly in Greece. Midfielders Carson and Burke started the game, while full-back McKeown came on as a sub.

Academy midfielder Josh Carson (pictured) scored and Town team-mates Rory McKeown and Cormac Burke also won Northern Ireland U17 caps as their side drew 2-2 with Greece in Athens on Wednesday. McKeown is a full-back and Burke a midfielder.

Out-of-favour midfielder Owen Garvan has been named in the Republic of Ireland U21 squad for two European Championship qualifiers next month. Garvan, who has previously won 11 caps at U21 level, captained the side in their recent 1-1 draw in Estonia.
